This is the list of ‘9 Most Respected’ Ghanaian celebrities. This list does not imply these are the only respected celebrities in Ghana. These are personalities from different industries such as the movie industry, music industry, etc. In no particular order;

9. Reggie Rockstone

Also known as the Grandpapa of Hip-Life, Reggie Rockstone is one of the most respected celebrities in Ghana. He’s won a lot of awards/prizes, he comports himself, and most of all, he respects himself. He was recently engaged in the banter between himself and Shatta Wale, and almost everyone on social media was supporting Reggie Rockstone not because he’s older than Shatta Wale, but because of his reputation.

8. John Dumelo

A former actor who’s now a politician, John Dumelo has massive respect both on social media, and in reality. John made his mark in the Ghanaian movie industry years ago with movies such as 4 Play, Heart of Men, Adams Apples, and many more. When he publicly announced his political ambition and position, the respect for him had not ceased but rather increased. No matter what you say about/to him, you’ll always find people defending him backed with proof.

One of the biggest Gospel music artist in Ghana is Joe Mettle. His ‘The Encounter’ Album shot him directly to the top, with Akokyem Nyame being the most popular/streamed song on the album. Joe Mettle has definitely left a mark and branded his name in the Gospel music industry in Ghana.

Omar Sterling formerly known as PaeDae is one of the top music artists in Ghana. He is a group member of the R2Bees Music Group and an independent artist as well. He hardly releases music/tracks, but anytime this guy releases a track, it becomes a hit. He has major respect in the industry and influence on ‘almost‘ all the youth in Ghana.

Jackie Appiah who was born in Canada and relocated to Ghana at age 10, is another respected celebrity in Ghana. The family woman hardly makes noise on social media, she keeps most of her things private, and she knows how to comport herself. She’s starred in countless movies which include Beyoncé – The President Daughter, The Return of Beyoncé, Her Excellency, YOLOand many more. She has also received lots of awards at renowned events including 2014 Ghana Movie Awards, 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, African Women Of Worth Awards among others.

4. Ameyaw K. Debrah

Ameyaw Debrah is a renowned Ghanaian blogger whose name is everywhere. Currently, if you talk about bloggers in Ghana, Ameyaw must be on the list. He has taken and completed many projects and visited lots of places. At the moment, he’s no longer with YEN and Ghanaweb, he’s focusing on building his own brand and he already has his site up and running.

3. Nana Aba Anomoah

Nana Aba may just be called Ghana’s most popular journalist. Ever since Nana Aba exited TV3, she became this bright star, especially on social media. Nana Aba is like the mother of all journalists and more like an “Oprah Winfrey” in Ghana. Though she jokes around on social media most of the time, she commands respect even in her speech and also empowers women. It’s no secret she is a Manchester United fan, and she’s been in contact with some of the players from the team.

Stonebowoy is one of the biggest artists in Ghana and, a good Dancehall and Afropop musician.


Sarkodie a.k.a ‘THE HIGHEST’, is another celebrity that has massive respect from people in the music industry, social media, and other industries he’s not even involved in. He has shown the industry time and time again that he’s one of the greatest artists Ghana has. You hardly see him on social media making noise, except for some weekends where you’ll encounter him on Twitter replying tweets/comments from fans. From the look of things, Sarkodie is more concerned about his family, and that’s his main priority, not music.
